PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Igor Eberhardt (ranked 4638 p4p, 24404 weight class) and Kulli Suuhun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Igor Eberhardt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kulli Suuhun!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eberhardt drives through and clinches with Suuhun against the cage.
Suuhun is trying to drag Eberhardt to the mat but Eberhardt just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Eberhardt.

Eberhardt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Eberhardt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Suuhun circles away.

Eberhardt rushes Suuhun and presses him up against the cage.
Suuhun is looking to take this one to the mat.

Suuhun manages to break the clinch.
Suuhun slaps away a takedown attempt from Eberhardt, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Suuhun drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Eberhardt sneaks out the side door and pushes Suuhun away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Eberhardt closes the distance looking to clinch

and Suuhun counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Suuhun.

Eberhardt wants to stand up but Suuhun is controlling him.
Suuhun trying to control but Eberhardt is working from the bottom.
Suuhun throws a big elbow that misses.
Suuhun wants to control from the top but Eberhardt keeps moving.

Suuhun makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Suuhun postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Suuhun wants to control from the top but Eberhardt keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Suuhun not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Suuhun stands up and waves to Eberhardt to follow him.
Eberhardt fails in his attempt to clinch.

Suuhun closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Eberhardt did well to prevent Suuhun getting side control.
Eberhardt tries to kick Suuhun off in order to stand up. Suuhun Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Eberhardt is not content to let Suuhun control the position.

Suuhun looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Suuhun stands up and we're back to a striking position.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Eberhardt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Eberhardt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Eberhardt clinches.

Suuhun tightens his grip and picks Eberhardt up, before dumping him to the ground. Eberhardt manages to land in guard.
Suuhun has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Suuhun prevents Eberhardt from getting back to his feet.
Eberhardt is breathing heavily.
Suuhun with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Suuhun keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Eberhardt's head.
Suuhun stays in close to Eberhardt's body and controls the position.

Suuhun drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Suuhun jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Suuhun accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Suuhun stands up and waves to Eberhardt to follow him.

Suuhun fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Eberhardt sprawls well initially but Suuhun persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Suuhun is trying to control the action in half guard but Eberhardt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Suuhun is looking for a kimura but Eberhardt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Suuhun to get the leverage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Suuhun keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kulli Suuhun dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Suuhun misses the jab.
Suuhun tries to score a power double leg takedown but Eberhardt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Suuhun somewhat.

Eberhardt takes the fight into the clinch.
Eberhardt tries to land knees in the clinch but Suuhun avoids the damage to the body.
Suuhun is looking for a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eberhardt gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Eberhardt is trying to maintain a safe position but Suuhun gets an underhook and turns Eberhardt into the cage.

Eberhardt breaks the clinch.
Suuhun defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Eberhardt.

Suuhun manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Eberhardt on his heels. He'll look to pass Eberhardt's guard now, I'm sure.

Eberhardt pushes Suuhun off and gets back to his feet.
Eberhardt tries to close the distance and clinch but Suuhun swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Suuhun is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Suuhun counters with a nice double leg into side control. Eberhardt won't be happy with that.

Eberhardt throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Eberhardt darts in and clinches Suuhun up against the cage.

Eberhardt is pressed up against the cage. Suuhun has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Eberhardt down to the mat. Eberhardt avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Igor Eberhardt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kulli Suuhun.

Eberhardt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suuhun pinned against the cage. Suuhun gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Eberhardt darts in and clinches Suuhun up against the cage.
Eberhardt using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Suuhun has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Suuhun drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Eberhardt gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Suuhun tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Eberhardt manages to break the clinch.

Suuhun shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Eberhardt is trying to defend but Suuhun finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Suuhun in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Eberhardt tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Suuhun!
