Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abubakar Camara (ranked 319 p4p, 1260 weight class) and Big Dog Gracie (ranked 46 p4p, 157 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gracie's choice of entrance music: Gang out. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abubakar Camara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Big Dog Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camara throws a leg kick

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Camara makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Camara.
Camara has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Gracie won't allow Camara to sweep him here.
Gracie postures up.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie stays in close to Camara's body and controls the position.

Gracie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Camara has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Camara pulls Gracie in to control the position.
Camara has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. Camara tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Camara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Camara as he jumps to the side.
A jab from Camara finds it's way through Gracie's defenses.
Gracie dives in and grabs Camara's left leg, looking for a takedown. Camara pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
Abubakar Camara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Dog Gracie.
Camara uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie.
Camara digs a good hook to Gracie's body.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Crunch! Camara slams his shin into Gracie's torso.
Gracie looks winded!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie misses with a straight right.
Gracie takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gracie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Big Dog Gracie has been cut.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Camara.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gracie takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Camara bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gracie's head.
Gracie circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Camara. Gracie falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Camara!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Abubakar Camara!
An out of breath Abubakar Camara thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
