Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Julian Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rivo Kuik!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivera looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kuik!
Rivera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rivera tries for a kimura but Kuik is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kuik tries to escape but Rivera is in control.

Rivera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kuik is trying to improve his position.
Kuik pushes Rivera away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rivera gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rivera is trying to get an arm triangle but Kuik is defending well.
Kuik can't do much from the bottom here.

Rivera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rivera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kuik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rivera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rivera swings around for an armbar but Kuik sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rivera's guard.
Kuik looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Kuik is sitting in close to Rivera's body. Rivera has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kuik is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kuik is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rivera.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Julian Rivera!
