Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rakeem Marley (ranked 2088 p4p, 2563 weight class) and Gilbervan Soares (ranked 281 p4p, 330 weight class). Marley kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rakeem Marley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gilbervan Soares!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley throws a jab but it's blocked by Soares.
Marley swings for the body but Soares moves out of range.
Soares throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Soares takes a swing at Marley's ribcage but misses.
Marley is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Soares takes one to the side of the head.
Marley misses with a two punch combination.
Soares tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Soares misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Marley.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marley is looking to clinch but Soares is avoiding it.
Soares throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marley was covering up waiting for the punch and Soares finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Soares won't allow Marley to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Soares trying to control the position from guard on top but Marley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Soares is controlling him.
Soares controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Soares trying to control but Marley is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soares looking to pass the guard.
Marley keeping moving, preventing Soares from controlling successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Marley lands with a straight right. Soares didn't see that one coming.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Marley. Soares does a little dance to reset his feet.
Marley misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Soares to counter with a crisp jab.
Marley is looking to clinch.
Soares feints the counter takedown.
Soares throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Soares swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Marley.
It looks like Rakeem Marley has been cut.
Marley takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Marley misses with a double jab.
Soares slips a jab and a cross from Marley.
Soares feints the counter takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soares tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marley swivels and escapes.
Soares connects with a right hand. Marley shakes it off.
Marley is rocked!
Soares gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Marley looks to land a combination but Soares avoids it well.
Marley looks to throw a body kick
and Soares counters with a double leg that slams his opponent to the canvas! Marley is in trouble here! Soares pounds away until the ref steps in to end the bout!
