Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Huge Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vel Sirra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Huge Jackman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vel Sirra!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sirra gets caught flat footed, as Jackman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jackman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sirra on the ground.

Sirra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sirra is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jackman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Jackman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jackman advances to half guard.
Sirra avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jackman.
Jackman not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackman scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackman tries to free his leg and advance position but Sirra is retaining full guard.

Sirra looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sirra is trying to maintain the position but Jackman is very close to passing his half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sirra manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackman manages to get himself to full guard.

Sirra drops back looking for a leg! Jackman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackman manages to kick Sirra off! Sirra jumps back into Jackman's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sirra passes into half guard.
Jackman is staying active underneath Sirra, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Jackman moves into full guard.
Jackman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ground and pound from Jackman.
Jackman is keen to just control but Sirra is a slippery customer.
Sirra pushes Jackman off but Jackman dives into side control.
Sirra manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jackman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Jackman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sirra is just riding it out for now. Jackman eventually gives up the hold.
Jackman is pressing down on Sirra's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sirra is holding on for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sirra wants to get back to his feet.
Jackman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sirra's head.

Sirra pushes Jackman off and gets back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Jackman or perhaps it was just good defense by Sirra which made him look bad.
Jackman takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Sirra throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sirra misses with a body kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sirra looks for a takedown but Jackman sprawls well.
Sirra tries to clinch up.
A choreographed right hand from Sirra misses the target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vel Sirra will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jackman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sirra avoids the head kick by Jackman.
Sirra fails with the takedown

and Jackman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Sirra is trying to control but can't.

Jackman is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Sirra has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sirra is looking to control Jackman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sirra avoid being mounted?
Jackman slips a nice elbow through Sirra's hands, connecting with Sirra's forehead.
Sirra trying to control but Jackman postures up.
Jackman could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jackman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sirra with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


Sirra is rocked!
Sirra is not content to let Jackman control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jackman connects with a nice short shot to Sirra's temple.
Sirra is still in real trouble! Can Jackman finish him?
Sirra is refusing to be controlled, as Jackman sits in half guard.
Jackman wants to free his trapped foot but Sirra is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sirra seems to have recovered his senses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackman trying to advance position but Sirra counters by regaining guard.
Jackman throwing strikes from guard but Sirra blocks nicely.

Sirra looking for a guillotine here but Jackman defends easily.
Sirra is breathing heavily.
Jackman with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jackman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jackman scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jackman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sirra gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sirra tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jackman just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sirra tries for a takedown. No joy.
Huge Jackman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vel Sirra.

Jackman gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Jackman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sirra is just riding it out for now. Jackman eventually gives up the hold.

Jackman is really struggling to control Sirra but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Jackman wants to pass the guard but Sirra is defending well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sirra closes the distance and clinches.
Sirra tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jackman just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jackman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sirra can't fight it off and eventually Jackman manages to take the fight to the floor. Sirra looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sirra is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jackman is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sirra has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Jackman is looking to defend but Sirra has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Jackman! Sirra pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Jackman taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vel Sirra!
