Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jermaine Drummond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mi Shin Ii!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shin Ii darts in looking for a takedown but Drummond gets double underhooks and turns Shin Ii into the cage.
Drummond takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Drummond misses with a head kick.
And Shin Ii tries to counter it with a takedown but Drummond pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Shin Ii has a takedown stuffed.

Drummond moves into the clinch successfully.
Shin Ii content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Drummond's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shin Ii has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Drummond.
Drummond pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Shin Ii fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Drummond, pushing him back against the cage.

The referee calls for Drummond to work.

Drummond manages to break the clinch.
Drummond throws a head kick but Shin Ii moves out of range.

Shin Ii fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Drummond sprawls well initially but Shin Ii persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shin Ii perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Drummond is looking to escape.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Shin Ii is taking a breather. Drummond says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Shin Ii works his foot free and advances to mount.
My spies in Hotrod Express MMA Training inform me that Shin Ii has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Shin Ii is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Drummond to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Drummond shrugs it off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drummond throws a sloppy head kick and Shin Ii moves out of range easily.
