Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Troy Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes avoids the head kick by Coleman.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Barnes has eaten all the pies!
Barnes tries to clinch but Coleman is having none of it.

Coleman darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barnes slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barnes is on top in guard.

Coleman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barnes on the ground.

Coleman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes wants to pass the guard but Coleman is keeping the position.
Barnes wants to stand but Coleman is controlling his posture from full guard.

Barnes throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barnes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Barnes throws a series of strikes that have Coleman backpedaling.

Barnes thows a body kick. Coleman tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Barnes or perhaps it was just good defense by Coleman, which made it look bad.
Barnes doesn't manage to clinch there - Coleman circles away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Barnes with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Coleman crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Barnes - the referee stops the clock and Coleman gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Barnes. Coleman manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Coleman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Coleman circles away from the clinch attempt

and Coleman counters with a shoot takedown. Barnes fights it but they end up in guard.

Barnes pushes Coleman off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Barnes misses with a body punch.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barnes feints and then cracks Coleman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Coleman down.
Barnes throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barnes throws a nice looking combination but Coleman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A solid leg kick lands there for Barnes.
Barnes fails in his attempt to clinch.
As Barnes tries to get set, Coleman tries to push him back and clinch up but Barnes manages to avoid the attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Barnes stops Coleman from passing to mount.
You can see the frustration on Barnes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Barnes pushes Coleman off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Coleman takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Coleman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barnes but Barnes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Barnes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A head kick from Barnes lands but Coleman takes it in his stride.

Barnes wants to clinch.
Coleman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Barnes sprawls and moves away.

Barnes rushes Coleman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Barnes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Barnes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barnes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Coleman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Coleman takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Barnes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Barnes has managed to clinch.
Barnes pushes Coleman back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Coleman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Coleman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Coleman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barnes but Barnes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Barnes darts in looking for a takedown but Coleman gets double underhooks and turns Barnes into the cage.

Barnes has one foot on Coleman's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
A left and a right from Barnes both land. Nice combination.

Troy Barnes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Barnes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Coleman manages to get himself to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coleman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

I would just about give that final round to Troy Barnes.
Well Barnes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
