Mazepin comes to the cage accompanied by boom. Dela Cruz has chosen This is the Moment as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mazepin is defended easily by Dela Cruz.
Mazepin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dela Cruz's guard.
Dela Cruz is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mazepin presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Dela Cruz turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dela Cruz manages to end up in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
