Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chiku Maneno (ranked 13458 p4p, 4219 weight class) and Tyron Woody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyron Woody!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Woody looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Maneno wants to stand but Woody is controlling the position.

Woody drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Woody jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Woody accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Woody trying to control the position from guard on top but Maneno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Woody's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Maneno wants to stand but Woody is controlling the position.
Woody missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woody is pushing down on Maneno's leg trying to pass to half guard. Maneno is fighting to maintain full guard but Woody has managed to sneak the leg through.
Maneno definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Woody looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Woody is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Maneno still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Maneno has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Woody tries to buck Maneno off but Maneno is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woody gets back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Woody manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maneno avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Woody is trying to control the position but Maneno postures up.

Woody is looking to cinch up a triangle. Maneno throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Woody's body to avoid the submission. Woody has instead reached around Maneno's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Woody arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tyron Woody!
After the fight, Tyron Woody was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
