PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard John Salvacion (ranked 24228 p4p, 4804 weight class) and Alpha AI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alpha AI told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
AI misses with a takedown attempt - Salvacion sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Salvacion quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Alpha AI seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Richard John Salvacion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alpha AI.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from AI is defended easily by Salvacion.
Salvacion jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

AI shoots in looking for a takedown but Salvacion manages to keep the fight standing, pushing AI's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

AI shoots for a double leg takedown but Salvacion sprawls well. He's pushed AI's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Salvacion.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Salvacion takes a little break here. AI wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
AI takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Salvacion has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
