Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darius Frank (ranked 2797 p4p, 2840 weight class) and Jan Raczynski (ranked 378 p4p, 384 weight class). Frank comes to the cage accompanied by Trapper x Foogiano . Darius Frank has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Raczynski!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Frank changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Raczynski tries to avoid it but Frank manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Raczynski to the ground. Raczynski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Raczynski gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Frank throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Raczynski to counter with a crisp jab.
Raczynski lands a nice hook to Frank's body. Frank takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Frank waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Raczynski.
Frank tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Raczynski swivels and escapes.

Frank closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Raczynski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Frank is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Raczynski has escaped the position, nice work there.
Raczynski prevents Frank from improving position.

Frank trying to control the position but Raczynski is working away.

Frank working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Frank wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Raczynski, who protects the arm well.

Frank goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Raczynski has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Frank but great work by Raczynski.
Frank tries to buck Raczynski off but Raczynski is having none of it.

Frank wants to control but Raczynski postures up.
Frank is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Thib's Sweat Shoppe, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Frank wants to control but Raczynski is keeping busy.
Raczynski content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Raczynski slips a nice elbow through Frank's hands, connecting with Frank's forehead.

Frank is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Raczynski pulls his head out easily.
Raczynski looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Raczynski prevents Frank from improving his position.

Frank looking for submissions off his back.
Raczynski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Frank gets back to full guard.

Frank working for a triangle but Raczynski defends it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Frank working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Raczynski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Raczynski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jan Raczynski will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Raczynski moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Frank throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Frank closes this distance looking for a takedown but Raczynski circles away.
Raczynski avoids the body shot from Frank.
Darius Frank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Frank moves out of range of the strikes.
Frank swings for the body but Raczynski moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Raczynski! But no joy.
Frank just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Raczynski lands a slapping body shot.
Raczynski moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Frank counters with a head kick. That will keep Raczynski thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Raczynski slaps away a takedown attempt from Frank, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darius Frank. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Raczynski catches Frank with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Frank shoots in for a takedown but Raczynski shows good takedown defense.
Raczynski let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

and Frank counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Raczynski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Frank.
It seemed like Raczynski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A jab from Raczynski does it's job there.
Frank throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Raczynski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frank.

Jan Raczynski seems to be getting the better of the standup.

It seemed like Raczynski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Frank shoots in and drives through. Raczynski sprawls well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Raczynski forces Frank back against the cage and clinches.

Raczynski lands a nice elbow.
Nice body punch from Raczynski.
Raczynski lands a shoulder strike.
Raczynski will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Frank up against the cage.

Jan Raczynski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

A lazy left from Frank finds it's target.

and Raczynski counters with a nice uppercut.

Raczynski is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Frank.

A nice side step and Raczynski releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Frank lands a nice hook to Raczynski's body. Raczynski takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Frank shoots for a double leg takedown but Raczynski sprawls well. He's pushed Frank's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Frank's corner calls for a 1-2. Frank obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Raczynski can do anything to dispel that myth.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jan Raczynski decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Darius Frank stepped up to the mic, saying 'A L means it’s a lesson. Next time out, I’ll show you what I learn.'.
