With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Orlando Ryan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Preston uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ryan.
Preston shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ryan throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Preston.
Ryan has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Preston ducks right into an uppercut from Ryan.
Ryan misses with a head kick.

and Preston counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ryan!

Preston is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ryan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Ryan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Preston asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Preston is looking to take a break and control but Ryan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Preston swings around for an armbar but Ryan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Preston's guard.

Ryan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Allan Preston will probably get the nod.

I was talking to Preston's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Preston wants to take the fight to the mat but Ryan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Ryan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Preston misses with a takedown attempt - Ryan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Preston shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ryan but Ryan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ryan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Ryan has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Preston has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Preston went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Allan Preston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Preston shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A combination from Ryan does no damage.

Preston takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ryan wants to get back to his feet.
Ryan is squirming around, avoiding Preston's attempts to control the action.
Ryan is looking to get to half guard.

Ryan tries to lock up and control but Preston gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Orlando Ryan.
I think Ryan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
