PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zeta AI (ranked 4698 p4p, 4748 weight class) and Ring Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zeta AI!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ring Walker!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

AI throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Walker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. AI is in Walker's guard.

Walker uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Walker gets a takedown into half guard.

AI has one foot on Walker's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

AI gets the takedown into side control.
Walker is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but AI is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
AI tries to control but Walker wriggling away.
Walker tries to lock up and control but AI gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
AI looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

AI looking to secure an arm triangle but Walker defends it well.
AI blocks Walker's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Walker takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker tries to hold on but AI pushes him away.
AI cracks Walker with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Walker trying desperately to get to his feet.
Walker tries to reverse the position but AI maintains control.
Walker bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
AI throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Walker tries to free his leg and advance position but AI is retaining full guard.

AI is working hard here to advance position.

AI is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Walker postures up in AI's guard and throws a big left but AI blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

AI working for submissions but it's allowed Walker to get to half guard.
AI wants to get back to full guard.
AI avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Walker.

Walker is looking for a kimura but AI is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Walker to get the leverage.

AI pushes Walker off and gets back to his feet.
AI shoots in but no luck this time.
AI looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
AI tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Walker looks for a takedown but AI sprawls well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walker checks a leg kick.

AI gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

AI is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walker will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning AI up against the cage.
AI tries to pull guard but Walker holds him up against the cage and eventually AI drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zeta AI. That's going to take a lot out of him.
AI tries to circle away but Walker has him pinned against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Zeta AI dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Walker shoots in for a takedown but AI shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Walker shoots in for a double leg but AI sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Walker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. AI quickly recovers to half guard.
AI tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Walker manages to move to mount!

AI is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
AI bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
AI with a nice head shot there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walker will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

AI decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
AI misses with a wild combination.

AI shoots in and gets a takedown into Walker's guard.

Walker has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. AI is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Walker breaks from the clinch.
AI is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Walker goes for a double leg but AI avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as AI continues to drive forward.
Zeta AI has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ring Walker.

Walker closes the distance and clinches.
AI tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walker just stands there and leans against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walker's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The crowd are getting on Walker's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
AI is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
AI wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Walker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Walker misses with a double jab.
AI fails to land the takedown.
AI misses with a jab to the body
and Walker counters with a two punch combo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
AI throws a head kick that misses.
AI tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

AI bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

AI tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no AI has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Walker can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walker might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control AI haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Walker is trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walker wants to get back to his feet but AI drags him back down.
AI taking a breather here.
AI trying to control the position but Walker is working away.
Walker is trying to get back to half guard.
Walker is trying to buck AI off.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ring Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

AI tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance.

Walker has taken the fight to the clinch.
Walker with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Walker is fighting off a takedown attempt but AI is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Walker to the mat. Walker regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
AI postures up.
AI slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walker is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
AI pulls Walker in to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

AI escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Walker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
AI keeping moving, preventing Walker from controlling successfully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

AI has his foot on Walker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walker works his way back into a safe position though.

AI in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Walker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Walker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Walker working a defensive guard but AI manages to pass into side control anyway.
Walker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but AI wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Zeta AI overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
AI has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Walker's face.
Walker tries to hold on but AI pushes him away.
Walker in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Walker is in a horrible position here. AI smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
AI tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Walker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
AI postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Walker looks a forlorn figure.
AI trying to control but he's not successful this time.
AI is in the full mount, landing strikes.

It looks like Ring Walker has been cut.
Walker tries to lock up and control but AI gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
AI looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walker manages to regain half guard. Good work.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zeta AI showed his dominance in that final round.
I think AI has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
