A fine choice. Ahmad Berry could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pooky Steve's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ahmad Berry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pooky Steve!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berry looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Steve follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Berry!
It looks like Pooky Steve has been cut.
Berry stuffs the takedown attempt from Steve. Steve gets slowly back to his feet.
As Steve tries to get set, Berry tries to push him back and clinch up but Steve manages to avoid the attempt.
Pooky Steve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Berry misses with a two punch combination.
Steve clinches up against the cage.
We've been informed that Steve has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Berry just misses with a elbow thrown towards Steve's brow.
Steve breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Berry chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Steve can pounce on him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steve comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

No joy there for Berry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Steve raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Steve feints and as Berry raises his hands in defense, Steve changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Berry is wriggling around but Steve manages to pass to half guard.
Steve with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Steve not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Steve decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Steve holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Berry is trying to stall.

Berry wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Steve landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Steve breaks the clinch.
Steve drives through with a takedown into guard.
Berry is looking to stand back up but Steve counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Berry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Berry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steve on the ground.

Steve is looking to advance position but Berry won't allow it.
Berry keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Steve looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Steve takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Steve stalling.
Steve is pressing down on Berry's thigh, looking to free his foot. Berry is holding on for now.
Steve slips a nice elbow through Berry's hands, connecting with Berry's forehead.
Steve passes to full mount!

Steve content just to control the position here.
Steve lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Steve moves to the back.
Steve is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Steve is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Berry with him. Berry is trying to defend but Steve has an arm under the chin now! Berry grimaces and is forced to tap out!
