The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sawada fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carlos sprawls well initially but Sawada persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Carlos manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Carlos is looking for a triangle but Sawada pushes his legs off easily.

Sawada must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sawada has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Carlos to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Sawada is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Carlos pulls down on the head and he's put Sawada to sleep! This one is all over!
