Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thierry Bailly (ranked 5750 p4p, 4153 weight class) and Rodrigo Duterte (ranked 441 p4p, 379 weight class). Bailly comes to the cage accompanied by MMA Entrance Music / Dustin Poirier. Duterte has chosen Ignition (Remix) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rodrigo Duterte!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duterte fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bailly to the ground. Duterte is now in Bailly's guard.
Duterte working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Duterte trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bailly's guard.
Duterte looking to sit in guard and control but Bailly gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duterte sneaks out the side door and pushes Bailly away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Bailly shoots in for a double leg but Duterte sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Duterte tries a quick counter leg kick but Bailly is wise to it.

Duterte tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bailly defends well and Duterte ends up having to push Bailly into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Duterte's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Duterte's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Oh but Duterte is tightening it up a little... Bailly has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bailly reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bailly taps out! Nice BJJ there by Duterte!
