Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Millard Masters (ranked 1922 p4p, 2576 weight class) and Pedro Phillips (ranked 118 p4p, 152 weight class). Masters's entrance music is Enter the Sandman. A fine choice. Pedro Phillips will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pedro Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters fails with the takedown.
Phillips changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Masters shoots in for a double leg but Phillips sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Phillips throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That kick from Phillips tenderised Masters's leg. Masters is trying to keep his angry face on.
Masters fails with a takedown attempt.
Masters looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Masters throws a series of punches but Phillips moves out of range.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Masters shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Phillips as he jumps to the side.
Masters seems to have got his legs back now.
Phillips scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Masters tries to clinch there but Phillips circles away.

Masters is trying to control. Phillips wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Masters frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Phillips is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Masters is working for a guillotine from mount but Phillips frees his head quite easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Masters working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Phillips smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Phillips gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Phillips breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Masters fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Phillips avoids it really well and circles away.

Masters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Phillips sprawls well initially but Masters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Masters is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Masters is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Phillips doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Masters.

Masters is stalling here. Phillips is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Masters seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Phillips has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
We've been informed that Phillips has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Masters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Masters tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Masters feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Phillips bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Masters's head backwards.

Phillips leaves Masters with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Masters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Phillips tries to avoid it but Masters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Phillips to the ground. Phillips escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Masters shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Phillips's guard.

Masters drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Phillips manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Masters has Phillips in his guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I've got Phillips winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
