Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Wilson (ranked 6069 p4p, 5061 weight class) and Tyson Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Wilson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Jay!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay dives in for a single leg takedown but Wilson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wilson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Jay has managed to clinch.
Wilson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jay after a bit of a struggle.

Jay has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wilson uses from the top position.
Jay tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jay pulls Wilson in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jay pushes Wilson off and scrambles back to his feet.

Jay is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wilson has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jay not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jay in particular looking to stall.
Jay sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Wilson defending well though.
Jay throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jay goes for a double leg but Wilson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wilson continues to drive forward.
Matt Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Jay.
Jay fails to land the takedown.
As Jay looks to move away, Wilson throws a big counter combo but Jay just gets out of the way.
Jay goes for a double leg but Wilson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wilson continues to drive forward.

Jay manages to pull guard.
Jay striking off his back but it's not causing Wilson any problems.

Jay bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilson 's guard.

Jay stays in close to Wilson 's body and controls the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jay shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jay looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wilson is fending him off so far but Jay persists. Nope, Wilson circles away and we're back to standing.
Jay shoots in but no luck this time.
Matt Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Jay.

Jay has managed to clinch.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jay manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Jay lands a body punch.
Wilson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jay unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Jay has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wilson uses from the top position.
Wilson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Wilson sets himself, and Jay steps forward looking for the clinch! Wilson avoids it this time.

Jay bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee asks Jay politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jay prefers to stall for the moment though.

Wilson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Wilson seems a little lost for a moment, as Jay dominates the positioning.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jay closes the distance and pushes Wilson back into the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Jay.

Jay breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jay darts in looking for a takedown but Wilson gets double underhooks and turns Jay into the cage.
Wilson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Matt Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jay fails with a takedown attempt.
Matt Wilson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jay fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wilson , pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jay connects with a nasty looking knee right to Wilson 's face.

Jay darts in looking for a takedown but Wilson gets double underhooks and turns Jay into the cage.

Tyson Jay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jay is pushing Wilson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Jay drives through and clinches with Wilson against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Jay - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wilson stuffs the takedown.
Wilson lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Jay moves into the clinch successfully.

Jay jumps guard.
Jay is pulling down on Wilson 's head to control his posture.
Jay's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Jay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wilson is aware though and is defending well.

Jay has Wilson pulled in close to control his posture.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jay holds on and takes a little breather.
