And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Kyle Rose!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and William Gold.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Penn gets a double leg takedown into Rose's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Penn (2) vs (0) Rose
Penn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Penn seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rose for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Penn drops back looking for a leg! Rose is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rose manages to kick Penn off! Penn jumps back into Rose's guard.
Penn is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rose really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Penn pushes down on Rose's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Penn has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rose defend it? Penn steps over the head and cranks it - Rose is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Penn!
