PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Needno Badges (ranked 3300 p4p, 6264 weight class) and Billy Blade (ranked 426 p4p, 613 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Needno Badges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Blade!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blade tries to move into range but Badges moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Blade has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Blade swings for the body but Badges moves out of range.

Badges gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Badges keeping moving, preventing Blade from controlling successfully.
Badges can't keep his opponent in guard - Blade advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Blade is trying to control the action in half guard but Badges is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Blade tries to pass the half guard into mount. Badges knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blade seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Blade is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Badges!

Blade lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Badges hang on?
Badges is wriggling around trying to escape.

Let's hope that Blade has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Blade jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Badges is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Badges and Blade has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Blade takes a little break here. Badges wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Blade wants to control but Badges is keeping him busy.

Blade is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Badges is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Blade controls the position.
Blade has control of an arm but Badges manages to advance to Blade's back!
Badges is looking to get the fight back to the feet.
Badges is hanging on to Blade's back as he tries to escape.
Blade trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Blade is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Badges stands up from back control! Strange decision that!

Blade takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Badges scores with a nice head shot.
Badges moves in looking to clinch but Blade pushes him off.
Blade wants to counter the offense by Badges and move into the clinch position.
Badges scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Badges takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Needno Badges has been cut.
Blade tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Badges was well out of range. Poor timing from Blade.
Badges tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blade swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Decent striking displayed by Badges there.
and Badges counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Blade! He's just covering up as Badges starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Needno Badges!
