Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Blanc (ranked 3427 p4p, 6748 weight class) and Lee Kevin (ranked 421 p4p, 630 weight class). The key to victory for Jean Blanc has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Blanc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lee Kevin!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blanc scores with a takedown into Kevin's guard.
Kevin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blanc is one step ahead there.
Kevin is still trying to improve position.
Blanc throws an elbow that misses. Kevin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blanc's guard. Nice move by Kevin!

Kevin content to stall in guard here.
My spies in Puncher's Chance Collective inform me that Kevin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Blanc looking for a guillotine here but Kevin defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Blanc is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kevin pulls his head out easily.
Blanc wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kevin stalling.

Kevin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kevin passes into side control, despite Blanc's attempt to control the position.
Kevin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kevin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kevin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Blanc takes the fight into the clinch.
Kevin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Blanc after a bit of a struggle.
Kevin is working for takedown but Blanc is calmly controlling the position for now.

Blanc pulls guard successfully.

Blanc throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kevin uses it to pass to side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blanc is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

A close round but Lee Kevin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Blanc has managed to clinch.

Kevin has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Blanc clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Blanc manages to escape to his feet.
Jean Blanc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kevin closes the distance and pushes Blanc back into the cage.

Blanc turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Blanc manages to end up in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kevin is looking to reverse the position.

Blanc is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kevin sees it coming and defends easily.

Blanc throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Blanc decides to return to a standing position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Blanc changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kevin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kevin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kevin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kevin is looking to control Blanc's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kevin avoid being mounted?

Blanc seems to be looking for submissions.
Kevin works his way to full guard. Good work.

Kevin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blanc defends it easily.

Blanc looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kevin has picked Blanc up and slammed him! Blanc can't keep hold of the triangle and Kevin manages to pass to side control!

Kevin works to advance to full mount. Blanc defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's time! Blanc's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Blanc has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Kevin escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Kevin!

Kevin cracks Blanc with a big right hand but Blanc just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Blanc forces Kevin back against the cage and clinches.
Kevin tries to score a body lock takedown but Blanc shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Blanc won't allow Kevin to sweep him here.

Blanc is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kevin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kevin has escaped and now he's on top!

Kevin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Blanc escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kevin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kevin content to stall in guard here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lee Kevin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kevin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
