Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Heckenschuetz (ranked 6231 p4p, 4953 weight class) and Kurt Hurting (ranked 686 p4p, 619 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kurt Hurting was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heckenschuetz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hurting.
Hurting showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Heckenschuetz.
Hurting wants to counter with a clinch but Heckenschuetz pushes him away.

and Hurting counters with a three punch combo that has Heckenschuetz backing up. Heckenschuetz nods at Hurting to acknowledge the strikes.

Hurting lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Heckenschuetz at a distance.
Hurting misses with a takedown attempt - Heckenschuetz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hurting has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hurting has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Heckenschuetz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hurting fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Heckenschuetz avoids it really well and circles away.

Hurting moves into the clinch successfully.

Hurting breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hurting dives in for a single leg takedown but Heckenschuetz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hurting tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hurting fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Heckenschuetz, pushing him back against the cage.
Heckenschuetz is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Hurting's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Hurting really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heckenschuetz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hurting is rocked!

The cut above Kurt Hurting's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hurting can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hurting takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Heckenschuetz's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
