Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gally Sorbet (ranked 5027 p4p, 6292 weight class) and Friendly Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sorbet is defended easily by Monkey .

Sorbet clinches.

Monkey breaks the clinch.
Sorbet misses with a head kick.
Monkey tries to clinch but Sorbet is having none of it.

Monkey moves into range and clinches up with Sorbet.

Sorbet tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Monkey smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monkey connects with a crisp jab.
Monkey tries to clinch up but Sorbet circles away and keeps his distance.

Monkey tries to keep at a distance but Sorbet has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sorbet takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Monkey creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Sorbet's defenses.

Sorbet's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Monkey closes the distance and clinches.

Monkey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sorbet tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Monkey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Monkey now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Friendly Monkey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sorbet feints and as Monkey raises his hands in defense, Sorbet changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sorbet lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Sorbet wants to stand but Monkey has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Sorbet has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sorbet slows the pace down in half guard.
Sorbet wants to stand up but Monkey is controlling the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Monkey throws a body punch but Sorbet moves out of range.

Sorbet darts in looking for a takedown but Monkey gets double underhooks and turns Sorbet into the cage.
Monkey lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Sorbet stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Monkey is trying to push Sorbet away but Sorbet has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Monkey will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sorbet up against the cage.

Sorbet changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Monkey fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sorbet connects with a nice short shot to Monkey 's temple.

Sorbet takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Monkey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Monkey is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Sorbet locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Monkey is forced to tap!
