The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega with a lazy takedown attempt

and Man counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Man breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Man throws a front kick aimed at Ortega's knee but Ortega avoids it well.
Ortega shoots in for a takedown but Man shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ortega tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Man swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aldric Ortega. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Man blocks a head kick by Ortega.
A bone on bone clash there as Ortega blocks the leg kick.
Ortega closes the distance and clinches up with Man, looking for a takedown. Ortega pushes Man against the cage but Man circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ortega shoots in for a takedown but Man shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortega will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Man steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Ortega.
Man swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ortega tries for a takedown but Man sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ortega tries to clinch there but Man circles away.

Ortega goes for a double leg but Man avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Man continues to drive forward.
Ortega is breathing heavily.

Man turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Man manages to end up in side control.
Ortega is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ortega gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Man working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Ortega looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Man! Submission of the night perhaps?
