Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fats Jones (ranked 3707 p4p, 4273 weight class) and Sam Wilson (ranked 436 p4p, 490 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
It looked like Jones wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Wilson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wilson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Sam Wilson has been cut.
Wilson tries to clinch up.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Wilson.
Jones was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

As Wilson looks to move away, Jones throws a big counter combo but Wilson just gets out of the way.

Oooooh!!! Jones has knocked Wilson down with a huge combo! Jones steps away and waves a wobbly Wilson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

We've been informed that Wilson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Wilson forces Jones back against the cage and clinches.

Wilson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jones cracks Wilson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Jones has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Wilson to stand back up!

The cut above Sam Wilson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sam Wilson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
