Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Panda One (ranked 2483 p4p, 4259 weight class) and Daniel Sanninen (ranked 381 p4p, 582 weight class). Daniel Sanninen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Panda One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Sanninen!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanninen lands with a thumping leg kick.
A lazy left from One finds it's target.
Sanninen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as One throws out the jab.
Despite the aggression on Sanninen's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
One looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sanninen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Sanninen takes one to the chin there.
Sloppy strikes from One. Those never looked like landing.
One throws a jab when Sanninen was well out of range.
One tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sanninen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten One somewhat.

A solid leg kick lands there for Sanninen.
One connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

One tries for a takedown but Sanninen circles away easily
and Sanninen counters with a stiff right hand.
No luck with that takedown attempt from One.

Sanninen lands with a hook. One tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

It looks like Panda One has been cut.
Sanninen misses with a kick to the body.
One throws out a loose jab but Sanninen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sanninen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from One.
Sanninen now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Sanninen just misses with a punch to the body.
One connects with a looping right hand.
Sanninen leaves One with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
One connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sanninen momentarily.
Daniel Sanninen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

One swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sanninen.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanninen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
One moves out of range of the strikes.
One shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanninen sprawls well. He's pushed One's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
One is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
One thows a left - swing and a miss!
One shoots in for a takedown but Sanninen shows good takedown defense.
Sanninen looks like he wants to counter punch here.
One misses the shot to the body.
Sanninen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Sanninen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but One moves away.
One jabbing away but nothing is landing.
One bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
One drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sanninen sprawls and moves away.

Sanninen gets caught flat footed, as One shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sanninen looking for a sweep. Not yet Sanninen, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

One stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanninen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
One has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sanninen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. One manages to get himself to full guard.


One working for a triangle but Sanninen defends it easily.
Sanninen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Let's hope that Sanninen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Sanninen got a little sloppy there for a moment and One has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanninen has managed to get both his arms back between One's legs - danger averted.

One looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

One looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
One wants to hit a sweep here but Sanninen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for One there!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sanninen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as One is looking to escape.
One can't escape the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Daniel Sanninen will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

One throws an overhand right that lands on Sanninen's shoulder, as Sanninen tries to avoid the shot.
The fighters circling - Sanninen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sanninen lands with a kick to the ribs.
Sanninen lands a glancing blow to the side of One's head.
Sanninen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as One throws out the jab.

Sanninen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent One stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Sanninen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sanninen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from One.
One misses with an uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
One throws an overhand right that lands on Sanninen's shoulder, as Sanninen tries to avoid the shot.
One ducks under a wild hook from Sanninen.
Sanninen throws a body shot but no joy.

One shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanninen defends it nicely.

One bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sanninen tries to improve position but can't.

One is really struggling to control Sanninen but he's trying to hold on to the position.

One is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sanninen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

One is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sanninen has escaped the position, nice work there.

One happy to just control the position for now.

One swings around for an armbar but Sanninen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into One's guard.
One keeping moving, preventing Sanninen from controlling successfully.
One wants to sweep here but Sanninen controlling him for the moment.

One has his foot on Sanninen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanninen works his way back into a safe position though.

One working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanninen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanninen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sanninen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

One is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sanninen is aware though and is defending well.
Panda One overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sanninen pushing down on One's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Daniel Sanninen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

One shoots in for a takedown but Sanninen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

One has his takedown stuffed
and Sanninen counters with a nice body shot.
Sanninen scores with a jab. One acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Daniel Sanninen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Horrible takedown attempt by One or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanninen, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Panda One. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice straight punches there by Sanninen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sanninen.
One moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Sanninen drops One with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but One looks back up at him and smiles so Sanninen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh One is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sanninen flashes One a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. One's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. One crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Sanninen punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
