The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Whyte enables Dos Santos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Whyte manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Whyte is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Dos Santos dives into side control.

Dos Santos misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Whyte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dos Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dos Santos working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Whyte turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Dos Santos off and cradles Whyte's limp body as Dos Santos celebrates with his corner.
