PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Green (ranked 2435 p4p, 3593 weight class) and Eric Ries (ranked 302 p4p, 413 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ries as he jumps to the side.
Ries lands a slapping body shot.
Ries punishes Green's body with a nice straight punch.
Ries smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ries throws a leg kick but Green checks it.
Green with a poor takedown
and Ries counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Green shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ries manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ries has an active guard here but Green has managed to pass into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ries can do anything to dispel that myth.
Green is trying to control. Ries wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ries punching from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ries!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ries wants to hold on but Green pushes him away.

Green with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Green swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
