Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hogan (ranked 3524 p4p, 5455 weight class) and Michal Materlak (ranked 449 p4p, 632 weight class). Materlak is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Marzenia. This should be a great matchup!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michal Materlak!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Summer Carpenter and Francis DeMontford.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogan throws a head kick that misses.
Materlak chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Materlak checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hogan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hogan is trying to force a seperation but Materlak has the dominant position.

Hogan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Materlak throws a good cross that connects.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hogan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Materlak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hogan tries to bum rush Materlak with a series of wild strikes but Materlak uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hogan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Materlak has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Materlak and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Materlak looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Materlak lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hogan throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hogan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Materlak connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hogan scrambles back to his feet.

Materlak closes the distance and pushes Hogan back into the cage.
Materlak pushes Hogan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Materlak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Materlak moves into range and connects with a jab.
Materlak stuns Hogan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Hogan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Materlak has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Materlak connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hogan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Materlak lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Materlak thuds his right hand into Hogan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hogan lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hogan tries to move into range but Materlak moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hogan takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Materlak connects with a single shot there.
Hogan tries to land a leg kick but Materlak saw it coming and moves away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Materlak! But no joy.
Hogan takes one to the chin there.
Hogan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Materlak tries to avoid it but Hogan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Materlak to the ground. Materlak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hogan moves forwards but Materlak connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hogan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Materlak pinned against the cage. Materlak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No joy there for Hogan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A low kick lands for Materlak.
Good shot there by Materlak.
Materlak lands with a right hand.
Hogan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Materlak instigates a clinch.
Materlak lands an uppercut.
Hogan has had enough of the clinch but Materlak keeps him there for the moment.
Materlak lands with a right to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A right hook to the body lands for Materlak.
Hogan is breathing heavily.
Hogan can't break the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Materlak.
Materlak scores with a shoulder strike.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hogan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Materlak.

Hogan tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hogan misses with the combination.
Materlak connects with a looping right hand.
Hogan looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Materlak creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Materlak makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Hogan is rocked!
Materlak gets through Hogan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Oh Hogan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Materlak throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hogans head.

Materlak keeps control of Hogan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hogan wants to break the clinch but can't.

Materlak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Materlak lands with a straight right. Hogan didn't see that one coming.
Hogan gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Materlak gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hogan is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
