The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Otunga fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gay to the ground. Otunga is now in Gay's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Otunga is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Otunga's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Otunga seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Otunga stands up and waves to Gay to follow him.

Otunga is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Otunga stays in close to Gay's body and controls the position.
Otunga has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Gay is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gay wants to get back to his feet but Otunga is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gay is kicking away at Otunga from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Otunga grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Gay trying to push Otunga off... Gay taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
