PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Adler Hiddler (ranked 4986 p4p, 4961 weight class) and Derek Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adler Hiddler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Derek Dong!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dong jabs at Hiddler's body.

Hiddler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dong throws Hiddler to one side and escapes!
Hiddler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dong avoids it really well and circles away.
Hiddler dives in for a single leg takedown but Dong sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Dong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hiddler is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dong's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Dong has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hiddler has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Dong ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dong no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dong is on top in guard.

Hiddler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dong on the ground.

Hiddler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hiddler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hiddler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dong gets to his feet - Hiddler follows without any prompting.

Dong will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hiddler appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Dong throws a chopping leg kick but Hiddler manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Hiddler attempts a counter takedown but Dong avoids it well and moves away.
Hiddler shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dong lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dong.

It looks like Adler Hiddler has been cut.

Dong darts in and clinches Hiddler up against the cage.
Oh Hiddler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hiddler closes the distance and clinches up with Dong, looking for a takedown. Hiddler pushes Dong against the cage but Dong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hiddler closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dong quickly recovers to half guard.

Hiddler is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dong is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dong tries to bum rush Hiddler with a series of wild strikes but Hiddler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hiddler connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That was a close second round but I would say that Adler Hiddler will probably get the nod.

Hiddler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hiddler has managed to get both his arms back between Dong's legs - danger averted.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Dong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
