PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kieran Bagley (ranked 4706 p4p, 4859 weight class) and Martin Katana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bagley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Imploding the mirage-The killers. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kieran Bagley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Katana!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bagley throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bagley ducks under a wild hook from Katana.
Nice uppercut lands for Katana. That snapped Bagley's head back.
Bagley tries a head kick but it misses.
Katana scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Bagley takes the fight into the clinch.
Bagley struggles to land a body shot inside as Katana controls his hands.
Bagley tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bagley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Katana is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bagley to the mat. Bagley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Bagley uses the cage to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Katana pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bagley is out of range and Katana settles back down.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bagley chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Katana can pounce on him.
Katana lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Katana dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bagley. That did some damage!
Katana thuds a left hand into Bagley's body.
Bagley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Katana lands with a thumping leg kick.
Bagley tries to land a leg kick but Katana saw it coming and moves away.
Katana sizes up Bagley with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Katana fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Bagley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Katana manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bagley is looking to work some ground and pound but Katana has wrist control.
Katana lands some strikes from the bottom.
Bagley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Katana is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Katana trying to keep a closed guard but Bagley is proving a slippery customer.
Bagley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bagley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Katana bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bagley's guard.


That's three minutes gone in the round.

Katana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bagley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Katana has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bagley to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Katana is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bagley pulls down on the head and he's put Katana to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kieran Bagley!
Our winner, Kieran Bagley, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
