PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Norman Welch (ranked 5072 p4p, 5044 weight class) and Bo Whittle (ranked 602 p4p, 598 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Welch looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Whittle controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Whittle changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Welch fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Whittle tries to close the distance and clinch but Welch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Welch shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Whittle eats them both and turns towards Welch to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Welch throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Welch is trying to drag Whittle to the mat but Whittle just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
