Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Sarychev (ranked 4660 p4p, 3260 weight class) and Grand Duke (ranked 481 p4p, 0 weight class). Grand Duke is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grand Duke!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarychev tries to bum rush Duke with a series of wild strikes but Duke uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Duke gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sarychev to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Sarychev is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sarychev's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Duke tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sarychev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sarychev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Duke sprawls well. Duke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sarychev gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sarychev seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Duke for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sarychev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Duke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sarychev somewhat.

Sarychev has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Duke after a bit of a struggle.
