Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wang Wei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Peirce!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peirce throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wei was covering up waiting for the punch and Peirce finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Peirce looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Peirce stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wei swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wei definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Peirce wants to stand but Wei is controlling his posture from full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wei wants to stand and escape but Peirce is having none of it.

Peirce looking to sit in guard and control but Wei gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wei wants to stand but Peirce is controlling his posture from full guard.
Peirce is working an open guard so Wei takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Peirce is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wei tries to bum rush Peirce with a series of wild strikes but Peirce uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Peirce wants to counter the offense by Wei and move into the clinch position.

Wei lands with a nice combination. Peirce backs away looking to recover.

Peirce wants to clinch up but Wei keeps it at a distance.

Peirce goes for a double leg but Wei avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wei continues to drive forward.

Wei lands with a hook. Peirce tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Peirce shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wei pinned against the cage. Wei gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wei lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Wei.

Peirce changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wei tries to avoid it but Peirce manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wei to the ground. Wei escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wei shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Peirce eats them both and turns towards Wei to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The fighters circle momentarily. Wei darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Peirce is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wei's half guard.
Wei is trying to stand up here but Peirce is controlling him well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Peirce postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ben Peirce has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wang Wei showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Wei has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Wang Wei spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
