Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Smith (ranked 258 p4p, 688 weight class) and Bo Nickal (ranked 4 p4p, 17 weight class). Chad Smith could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bo Nickal's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nickal has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Smith after a bit of a struggle.

Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nickal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nickal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Nickal's legs - danger averted.

Nickal is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well.

Smith cracks Nickal with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Smith takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Nickal connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Smith momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chad Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nickal fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nickal throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Smith tries to clinch but Nickal moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Smith enables Nickal to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smith manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nickal slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Smith rolls with it to try and escape but Nickal cranks on the arm and Smith is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
