Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between BC Smith (ranked 6957 p4p, 2997 weight class) and Art Mcgowan (ranked 631 p4p, 334 weight class). Art Mcgowan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgowan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
Smith leaves Mcgowan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Smith lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Mcgowan can't escape the position.

Smith looking to break Mcgowan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mcgowan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Smith will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Smith is cranking Mcgowan's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Mcgowan! He's tightened the choke and Mcgowan is tapping out!
