Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Cannson (ranked 5080 p4p, 3047 weight class) and Polish Powaaah (ranked 591 p4p, 402 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powaaah clinches up against the cage.
Powaaah prevents a takedown attempt there.
Powaaah looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Powaaah as Cannson tries to tie him up.
Cannson is working for takedown but Powaaah is calmly controlling the position for now.
Powaaah stalling in the clinch but Cannson improves position.
Powaaah tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Cannson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Powaaah pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Cannson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Powaaah wants to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Powaaah tightens his grip and picks Cannson up, before dumping him to the ground. Cannson manages to land in guard.
Cannson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cannson lands a nice short elbow.

Cannson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Powaaah with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Cannson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cannson lands strikes from half guard.
Cannson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Powaaah has hold of Cannson's hands but Cannson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Powaaah is rocked!
Cannson lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Powaaah quite badly. Powaaah pulls Cannson in close trying to recover. Cannson postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Powaaah on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Powaaah doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
