Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jovan Markelic (ranked 3395 p4p, 3751 weight class) and Dalton Dekker (ranked 445 p4p, 483 weight class). Dalton Dekker told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markelic throws a leg kick
and Dekker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dekker just misses with a punch to the body.
A thudding body kick lands there by Markelic!
Jovan Markelic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Markelic throws a sloppy head kick and Dekker moves out of range easily.
Markelic lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Markelic misses the shot to the body.
Dekker does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Markelic misses with a hook. Dekker ducked under it nicely.
Dekker wants to counter the offense by Markelic and move into the clinch position.

Dekker takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Markelic throws a head kick but Dekker moves out of range.
Markelic drops his hands momentarily and Dekker takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Markelic misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Markelic takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dekker scores with a hook to the body. Markelic takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Dekker throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Markelic connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Dekker doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Markelic avoids the body shot from Dekker.

Markelic throws a hook but Dekker blocks it.
Markelic sets himself, and Dekker steps forward looking for the clinch! Markelic avoids it this time.
Dekker throws an overhand right that lands on Markelic's shoulder, as Markelic tries to avoid the shot.
Dekker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jovan Markelic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dekker jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Markelic cracks Dekker with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Markelic has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dekker to stand back up!

Markelic darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Dekker's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Markelic before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

After the fight, Jovan Markelic was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
