Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jody Flaka (ranked 6122 p4p, 5128 weight class) and Eriks Aita (ranked 697 p4p, 602 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eriks Aita!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aita shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Flaka manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Flaka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Flaka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aita doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aita manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Aita got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flaka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aita has managed to get both his arms back between Flaka's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aita wants to control from the top but Flaka keeps moving.

Flaka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aita gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Aita tries to free his leg and advance position but Flaka is retaining full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Aita throws a strike but Flaka rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Flaka wants to stand and escape but instead Aita has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Flaka is striking from the bottom but Aita uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Flaka is wriggling around trying to escape.
Aita lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Flaka is looking to improve his position but Aita isn't that keen on the idea.
Aita wants to control the pace but Flaka is squirming around nicely.

Aita can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Flaka is looking to escape.

Aita lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Flaka might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Aita lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Flaka is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Aita tries to control but Flaka wriggling away.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Flaka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aita swivels and escapes.

Aita decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Flaka wants to get back to his feet.
Aita tries to pass the half guard into mount. Flaka knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Aita has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Aita is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Flaka!
