PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noah Pymus (ranked 5149 p4p, 25135 weight class) and Dalton Hawley (ranked 571 p4p, 716 weight class). Hawley has chosen Tyler Herro as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Noah Pymus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dalton Hawley!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pymus connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hawley. Hawley circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hawley throws a head kick but Pymus moves out of range.
Pymus connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Pymus throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hawley on the side of the head.

Hawley gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Hawley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pymus is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hawley gets control of Pymus's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hawley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Pymus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hawley uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Hawley breaks the clinch.
Hawley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pymus sprawls well. Pymus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hawley gets slowly back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hawley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pymus sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hawley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hawley needs to keep his hands up - Pymus had a free shot at his head there.
Pymus comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Hawley shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hawley looks to land a left hand but Pymus moved out of range nicely.

Hawley jumps guard but Pymus stands there with Hawley around his waist. Hawley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Noah Pymus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dalton Hawley.

Pymus is trying to break the clinch but Hawley is controlling him.

Hawley manages to pull guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pymus wanted to stand there but Hawley had control of the position.
Hawley pulls Pymus in close to prevent any damage.

Hawley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pymus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hawley throws a solid leg kick but Pymus takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hawley.

Hawley moves into range and clinches up with Pymus.
Hawley prevents Pymus from breaking the clinch.
Pymus drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hawley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pymus uses from the top position.
Hawley wants to sweep here but Pymus controlling him for the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pymus's guard.

Hawley controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Let's hope that Hawley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Pymus is trying to control the position but Hawley postures up.

Hawley stands up from Pymus's guard - Hawley perhaps looking for a knockout.

Hawley swings wildly with an uppercut but Pymus uses good head movement to avoid it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pymus wants to break the clinch but can't.
Pymus has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hawley keeps control of Pymus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hawley is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pymus gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Pymus makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hawley looking to throw knees to the head but Pymus is blocking nicely.

Pymus wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Hawley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pymus walks away with a smile on his face. Hawley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Pymus throws a right and a left that Hawley avoids nicely.
Pymus lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Hawley gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Pymus cracks a nice hook into Hawley's ribs.

Pymus doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hawley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pymus swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hawley looks to land a left hand but Pymus moved out of range nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hawley takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Pymus is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Pymus drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hawley gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hawley stops Pymus from standing up.
Hawley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hawley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dalton Hawley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hawley has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
