Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Layton (ranked 3225 p4p, 3613 weight class) and Tourn Champ (ranked 418 p4p, 451 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Layton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tourn Champ!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champ swings widly with a right hand
and Layton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Tourn Champ has been cut.
Layton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Champ throws out the jab.
Champ moves forwards but Layton connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Layton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Champ let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Layton scores with a jab to the body.
Layton scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Layton looks to land a left hand but Champ moved out of range nicely.
Champ looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Champ takes the fight into the clinch.
Layton has a couple of punches blocked by Champ.
Layton gets through Champ's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Champ jumps guard but Layton stands there with Champ around his waist. Champ gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Champ ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Layton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Champ moves away.

Jack Layton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Champ pulls guard successfully.
Layton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Champ swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Layton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Champ can do to turn this around?

Layton throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Champ stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Champ takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

That has opened up Tourn Champ's cut even more.

Champ doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Layton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Champ is rocked!
Champ is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Layton is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Champ flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Champ is out cold! Layton holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jack Layton!
Jack Layton opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
