Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Thunder (ranked 1783 p4p, 2074 weight class) and Matt Barnes (ranked 202 p4p, 228 weight class). Thunder 's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Thunderstruck - AcDc. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes's jab looks to have found its range, popping Thunder under the eye.
Barnes scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Thunder doesn't seem bothered though.
Thunder on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Thunder looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Barnes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Barnes throws a right and a left that Thunder avoids nicely.

Thunder moves into the clinch.
Barnes misses with a body punch.
Thunder blocks a body shot from Barnes.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Barnes fails to land with a series of punches.
Thunder throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Barnes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thunder was well out of range. Poor timing from Barnes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A head kick from Barnes lands but Thunder takes it in his stride.

Barnes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Barnes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thunder moves away.

As Barnes looks to move away, Thunder throws a big counter combo but Barnes just gets out of the way.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Barnes connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Barnes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Thunder counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Matt Barnes has been cut.

Barnes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Barnes tries a head kick but it misses.
Thunder wants to clinch but Barnes slips to the side
and Barnes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Thunder looks to land a right hand but Barnes moved out of range.
Barnes is looking to chop away at Thunder 's legs.
Thunder was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Both fighters circling a little - Barnes finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Barnes fails to land with a series of punches.
Barnes throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Thunder 's head.
Barnes lands a lovely overhand right.
Thunder has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Barnes finds it's way round the side to connect with Thunder 's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thunder just misses with a punch to the body.
Thunder doesn't manage to clinch there - Barnes circles away.
Thunder misses with an uppercut. Barnes saw that one coming.
Barnes throws a counter combo.
Thunder takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Matt Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barnes avoids the head kick by Thunder .
Barnes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Barnes drops Thunder with a beautiful combination! Thunder stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Barnes is looking for the KO!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barnes misses with a wild body shot.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Thunder throws a big counter combination but Barnes scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Thunder with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Barnes to score with a decent uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thunder pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barnes lands with a kick to the temple. Thunder shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Barnes throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Thunder counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Thunder dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Barnes swings away with a body shot that misses
and Thunder counters with a huge left! Barnes is in big trouble! He's backing up but Thunder isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Barnes from any more damage. A dominating finish by Thunder !
