PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ajdin Hrustic (ranked 5311 p4p, 5312 weight class) and Anze Lenisek (ranked 506 p4p, 508 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lenisek has closed the distance and engaged Hrustic in a clinch.

Hrustic decides to pull guard.
Lenisek wanted to stand there but Hrustic had control of the position.
Lenisek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hrustic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lenisek must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lenisek stays in close to Hrustic's body and controls the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hrustic throws an elbow that misses. Lenisek uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hrustic's guard. Nice move by Lenisek!

Hrustic has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lenisek is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hrustic.

Lenisek really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hrustic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hrustic is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lenisek pulls his head out easily.
Lenisek is taking a breather. Hrustic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hrustic wants to clinch up but Lenisek keeps it at a distance.

Lenisek slaps away a takedown attempt from Hrustic, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Hrustic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hrustic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lenisek throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lenisek fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hrustic, pushing him back against the cage.
Hrustic tries to break free but Lenisek pushes him back against the cage.

Lenisek manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hrustic is fighting to break Lenisek's control of his arms but Lenisek is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Lenisek wants to sweep but no luck.

Hrustic fails to land the takedown.
Hrustic shoots in looking for a takedown but Lenisek manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hrustic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lenisek comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Lenisek takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Lenisek gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Lenisek distracts Hrustic with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Lenisek takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hrustic wants to control but Lenisek is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lenisek in particular looking to stall.
Lenisek has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Lenisek is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hrustic is surviving well by controlling Lenisek's body position as best he can.

Hrustic reaches up to try and control the position but Lenisek seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Hrustic rolls and tries to escape and now Lenisek has his back!
Lenisek has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hrustic's body.

Hrustic stands and steps away. Lenisek gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Lenisek gets control of Hrustic's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lenisek will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lenisek is pulling down on Hrustic's head. It's preventing any offense from Hrustic, at least for the moment.

Lenisek has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hrustic is working away from the top position though.
Lenisek is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hrustic's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hrustic's back!

Lenisek has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hrustic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hrustic is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lenisek looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hrustic gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lenisek is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hrustic lets go of the hold and Lenisek can pop his arm back in it's socket.
