PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eradius Aquiles (ranked 4207 p4p, 24853 weight class) and Troy Hoffman (ranked 521 p4p, 790 weight class). Hoffman has chosen Fireproof as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Troy Hoffman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick lands for Aquiles.
Hoffman takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Hoffman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Aquiles in his tracks.
Aquiles throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hoffman lands a nice shot to the body.
Hoffman throws the kick towards the body but Aquiles avoids it.
Hoffman misses with a leg kick.
A jab lands there for Hoffman.
Aquiles goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Aquiles.
Aquiles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hoffman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Aquiles has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Aquiles and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Hoffman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Hoffman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Aquiles with a body shot.

Aquiles ducks straight into an uppercut from Hoffman and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Aquiles manages to regain guard straight away.

Hoffman postures up in Aquiles's guard and throws a big left but Aquiles blocks it.
Oh Aquiles is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Aquiles wants to get back to his feet but Hoffman passes into half guard.
Aquiles seems to have got his legs back now.

Hoffman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoffman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Aquiles wants to stand back up but Hoffman manages to pass into side control.
Hoffman tries to score with some ground and pound. Aquiles controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hoffman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Aquiles is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hoffman decides to stand back up. Hoffman steps back and let's Aquiles get back to his feet.
Aquiles lands a head kick. Hoffman smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Aquiles takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Aquiles checks a leg kick.

Aquiles throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Aquiles ducks under a wild hook from Hoffman.

Hoffman takes a kick to the side of the head.
Aquiles throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Hoffman misses with a double jab.

Hoffman has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Aquiles.

That was a close round but I would say that Eradius Aquiles will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hoffman thuds his right hand into Aquiles's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hoffman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Aquiles throws a head kick but Hoffman moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hoffman batters Aquiles with a massive right followed by a huge left! Aquiles is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Hoffman lands a final crushing right hand to drop Aquiles to the mat with a gruesome thud! Hoffman is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
