Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor Mcgregor (ranked 24261 p4p, 4391 weight class) and GameBred Masvidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). GameBred Masvidal has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Masvidal has Mcgregor up against the cage in a clinch.
Mcgregor jumps guard but Masvidal stands there with Mcgregor around his waist. Mcgregor gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Masvidal is trying to force a seperation but Mcgregor has the dominant position.

Masvidal pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcgregor cracks Masvidal with a solid left hand.
Mcgregor with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Masvidal tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Masvidal looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Masvidal throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcgregor trying to control but Masvidal is working from the bottom.
Masvidal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcgregor . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Masvidal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcgregor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mcgregor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Masvidal closes the distance and clinches.
Mcgregor wants a takedown.

Masvidal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Mcgregor counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Mcgregor shoots in for a double leg but Masvidal sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Masvidal throws a sloppy head kick
and Mcgregor counters with a solid body kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mcgregor is defended easily by Masvidal.
Mcgregor shoots in looking for a takedown but Masvidal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mcgregor 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
GameBred Masvidal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mcgregor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Masvidal tries to avoid it but Mcgregor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Masvidal to the ground. Masvidal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Masvidal misses with a two punch combination.
Mcgregor tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Masvidal manages to circle out of the way.
Mcgregor is looking to clinch.
Mcgregor shoots in and drives through. Masvidal sprawls well.
Mcgregor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Masvidal's waist but Masvidal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcgregor off to one side.
Mcgregor is breathing heavily.
Mcgregor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Masvidal looks to land a combination. Mcgregor sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
A left and a right from Masvidal both land. Nice combination.
Masvidal throws the kick towards the body but Mcgregor avoids it.

and Mcgregor counters with a head kick. That will keep Masvidal thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Mcgregor bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Masvidal throws Mcgregor to one side and escapes!
Mcgregor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Masvidal moves into the clinch successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Masvidal is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mcgregor is defending well for now.
Masvidal is trying to push Mcgregor away but Mcgregor has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Mcgregor 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Masvidal looks to land a right hand but Mcgregor moved out of range.
Mcgregor half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Masvidal swats away the attempt to clinch by Mcgregor .

Nice sprawl there from Masvidal as Mcgregor shoots in.
Mcgregor fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Masvidal throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mcgregor .
Mcgregor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Masvidal misses with an attempted mid kick.
Mcgregor throws a big counter combination but Masvidal scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Masvidal has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mcgregor is trying to pull guard but Masvidal turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Masvidal gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Mcgregor is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Masvidal presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mcgregor takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Mcgregor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Masvidal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcgregor somewhat.

Masvidal has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Mcgregor should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Masvidal has tightened it up now! Mcgregor should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
