Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bot #1 (ranked 1522 p4p, 756 weight class) and Tanaka Matsuda (ranked 206 p4p, 95 weight class). #1's entrance music is The Way. A fine choice. Matsuda comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Avenged Sevenfold - Hail to the King kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tanaka Matsuda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bot #1!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tanaka Matsuda!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from #1.

It looks like Tanaka Matsuda has been cut.
#1 throws the left hand but Matsuda avoids the punch easily.
#1 misses with a hook. Matsuda ducked under it nicely.
Matsuda takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
#1 displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Matsuda throws out the jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Matsuda has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The fighters circling - #1 throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Matsuda misses with a straight right.
#1's jab looks to have found its range, popping Matsuda under the eye.
#1 walks into a left hand.
A telegraphed right hand from #1 misses the target.
#1 scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
#1 swings for the body but Matsuda moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
#1 misses with a looping right.
And Matsuda tries to counter it with a takedown but #1 pushes his down on his head and steps out.

#1 takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A jab from Matsuda finds it's way through #1's defenses.
Matsuda throws an uppercut from half a mile away. #1 sees it coming and avoids it easily.
#1 throws a jab when Matsuda was well out of range.

#1 moves into the clinch.
Matsuda misses with a short punch on the inside.
#1 tries a body shot but Matsuda blocks it.

#1 breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
#1 connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That has opened up Tanaka Matsuda's cut even more.
Matsuda misses with a looping left.
#1 swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Matsuda bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
#1 taking punishment in the form of punches.
#1 tries to improve position but can't.
#1 is working hard here to advance position.
#1 trying his best to control but Matsuda has mounted him.

#1 is trying desperately to improve position.
#1 is squirming around, avoiding Matsuda's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Matsuda is sneakily working for an arm triangle but #1 sees it coming and defends easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Bot #1 will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

#1 ducks under a wild hook from Matsuda.
#1 pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
#1 looks to land a right hand but Matsuda moved out of range.

#1 closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

#1 throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Matsuda wants to control from the top but #1 keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Matsuda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Matsuda stands up over #1, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Matsuda lands a couple of elbows.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Matsuda wants to control from the top but #1 keeps moving.
Matsuda trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Matsuda avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Matsuda has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Matsuda is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Matsuda counters with a nice double leg into side control. #1 won't be happy with that.

Matsuda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by #1, who protects the arm well.
#1 tries to buck Matsuda off but Matsuda is having none of it.

#1 wants to control but Matsuda postures up.
#1 is trying to get back to half guard.
#1 wants to get back to his feet but Matsuda drags him back down.

#1 is not content to let Matsuda control the position.
Matsuda cracks #1 with a big elbow.
Matsuda working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

#1 is rocked!

Matsuda is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. #1 knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Oh #1 is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

#1 is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Matsuda off and has taken his back!
#1 seems to have got his legs back now.
#1 not allowing Matsuda to control his hands.

#1 has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

#1 is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Matsuda knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Matsuda for a finish.

Matsuda wants to control his opponent's hands but #1 gets his hands free.

#1 looking for the choke but no joy.
#1 is trying to stick to Matsuda's back but Matsuda is turning into #1. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in #1's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Matsuda.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

#1 is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Matsuda has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - #1 taps out instantly and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tanaka Matsuda!
Tanaka Matsuda gave a mention to Conviction in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
