Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christ Benoit (ranked 2598 p4p, 7279 weight class) and Samak Tiyapairat (ranked 356 p4p, 800 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Benoit might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Amazing Grace. The crowd seem to be enjoying Tiyapairat's choice of entrance music: Ram Muay. Christ Benoit could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Samak Tiyapairat's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Tiyapairat misses
and Tiyapairat takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Samak Tiyapairat has been cut.
Benoit with the inside leg kick.
Tiyapairat tries to clinch but Benoit moves away
and Benoit counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Tiyapairat to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Benoit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Christ Benoit!
