Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Cloudsen (ranked 4369 p4p, 4259 weight class) and Brook Spilih (ranked 494 p4p, 489 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bjorn Cloudsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brook Spilih!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spilih fails to land with a series of punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cloudsen.
Cloudsen fails with the takedown.
Cloudsen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Spilih avoids it really well and circles away.
Cloudsen has been working on his balance at Reach Around, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Spilih.

Spilih avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Cloudsen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cloudsen shoots for a double leg takedown but Spilih sprawls well. He's pushed Cloudsen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

As Cloudsen backs off Spilih throws a huge counter combo but Cloudsen manages to avoid it all.

Spilih has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cloudsen uses from the top position.

Cloudsen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Spilih's guard.

Cloudsen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

I would just about give that final round to Brook Spilih.
