PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Parker Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah Spilter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Parker Lewis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Parker Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Noah Spilter!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spilter drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lewis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lewis tries to get out of the position.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Spilter wanted to stand there but Lewis had control of the position.
Lewis is trying to control the position but Spilter postures up.
Lewis throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Lewis wants to sweep but no luck.
Lewis looking to control.
Lewis wants to stand and escape but Spilter is having none of it.
Spilter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lewis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spilter manages to get himself to full guard.

Spilter pushes Lewis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

A punch combination from Spilter misses.
Lewis wants to clinch up but Spilter keeps it at a distance.
Lewis keeps Spilter at a distance using the push kick.
Spilter lands a jab to the head.
Lewis throws a head kick but Spilter moves out of range.
Lewis has his takedown stuffed

and Spilter counters by clinching up.
The is referee keeping an eye on Spilter - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Spilter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Spilter pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lewis tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Spilter counters with a one-two to the body.
Lewis fails with the takedown
and Spilter counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Lewis moves into the clinch.
Spilter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lewis has Spilter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Spilter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Parker Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lewis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lewis clinches but Spilter breaks the clinch

and Spilter counters with a shoot takedown. Lewis fights it but they end up in guard.
Spilter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Spilter tries to free his leg and advance position but Lewis is retaining full guard.
Lewis controls Spilter momentarily but Spilter frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spilter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lewis keeping moving, preventing Spilter from controlling successfully.
Lewis throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Spilter wants to stand but Lewis is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Spilter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lewis tries to improve position but can't.
Lewis is not content to let Spilter control the position.
Spilter controls the position from side control.
Spilter trying to control the action but Lewis is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noah Spilter dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lewis has his takedown stuffed
and Spilter counters with a nice body kick.
Lewis does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lewis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spilter's waist but Spilter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewis off to one side.

Spilter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Spilter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lewis is trying to escape the mount.
Spilter avoids the attempt from Lewis to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lewis gets back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lewis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Lewis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Spilter stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Lewis is looking to clinch but Spilter is avoiding it.
Spilter scores with a three punch combo!
Spilter throws a series of punches but Lewis moves out of range.
A head kick by Spilter misses

so Lewis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lewis wants to stand but Spilter is controlling his posture from full guard.

Lewis stands and steps away. Spilter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Lewis fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Parker Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lewis with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lewis tries for a takedown but Spilter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Spilter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lewis.
Lewis looks to clinch
and Spilter counters with a one-two to the body.
Spilter scores with a three punch combo!
Spilter lands a lovely overhand right.
Spilter tries to clinch but Lewis moves out of range.

Lewis has closed the distance and engaged Spilter in a clinch.

Spilter drags the fight down to the ground.
Noah Spilter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lewis cracks Spilter with a solid left hand.
Lewis won't allow Spilter to get back to his feet.
Lewis thows a big elbow that misses.

Lewis gets to his feet. Spilter looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Lewis misses with a looping left.
Spilter throws a sloppy head kick and Lewis moves out of range easily.

Lewis drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lewis cracks Spilter with a solid left hand.
Lewis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Spilter is proving hard to escape from.

Spilter uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Spilter lands with a right hand.
Lewis shoots in and drives through. Spilter sprawls well.
Spilter scores with a three punch combo!
Lewis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Spilter counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Spilter tries to clinch there but Lewis circles away.

Lewis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lewis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Spilter is trying to maintain the position but Lewis is very close to passing his half guard.
Lewis prevents Spilter from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parker Lewis dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Spilter pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Spilter counters by moving into the clinch.
Lewis effectively controlling the action here.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lewis shoots in but no luck this time.
Spilter steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lewis. That one must have hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lewis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Spilter clinches.
Lewis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spilter walks away with a smile on his face. Lewis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lewis looks to clinch
and Spilter counters with a three punch combo that has Lewis backing up. Lewis nods at Spilter to acknowledge the strikes.
Lewis takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A nice combination there by Spilter.
Spilter scores with a body shot.
Parker Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lewis fails with a takedown attempt.
Spilter is looking to clinch.
Lewis shoots for a takedown but Spilter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Spilter is trying to break the clinch but Lewis has him pressed against the cage.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Spilter chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Lewis scores with a leg kick.
Lewis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Spilter counters with a left and a right that stings Lewis.
Spilter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Spilter throws a body kick that misses.
Lewis swinging wilding here.
Lewis with a poor takedown
and Spilter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lewis thinking.
Spilter is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Lewis rather than just go for the knockout.
Spilter shoots and misses
and Lewis counters with a nice kick to the body.
Lewis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Spilter cracks Lewis with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Spilter is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Lewis is working for a guillotine from mount but Spilter frees his head quite easily.
Lewis throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Spilter because Lewis loaded up on that one.
Spilter tries to hold on but Lewis pushes him away.
Lewis throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Spilter can't escape the position.
Lewis unloading with bombs!
Lewis trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Spilter is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Spilter is wriggling around trying to escape.
Spilter wants to hold on but Lewis pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lewis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
A nice elbow there by Lewis.
Lewis thowing shots but they're missing.

Lewis working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Lewis sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

And that's the end of the fight!
Parker Lewis showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lewis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
